Is it possible to have an affiliate marketing blog that is free, and still earns you money? Or do I need to pay for a more 'professional' blog domain? Also: Is it worth it to be an affiliate marketer? How much could I earn with a free blog, working part-time on it, and not paying anything to increase my blog search rankings? Is running an affiliate marketing blog a worthwhile thing (financially) to do when I can only do it part-time - or is it something that needs a full time worker?

Okay...I had already asked a question a few days before about why my blog doesn't come up when I used the Google search engine, even though I have entered my website's whole address (copy pasted) into the search box... I need opinions about Affiliate Marketing prospects.? I have started working with a few programs that offer Affiliate Marketing training, and was inundated with so much information that I was overwhelmed and haven't started any blog or web site yet. Using wordpress to design a site that includes affiliate marketing? I bought my first domain name today through godaddy.com. I then created my first site (or blog) using wordpress. After doing some research I found hostgator to be a better option than godaddy's host service so I went with them. With hostgator as my host I forwarded the traffic from the domain I bought through godaddy to the site I created with wordpress. Did a test and by typing in my domain name into the bar up top... what do ya know, I got to my site! I was happy lol. I still couldn't get to it through the search engine, even when I typed in my actual domain name, but I did that within seconds of signing up so I figured it may not be registered yet. I then signed up with commission junction to start posting affiliate links on my site. After searching around a bit I found a relevant program and decided to sign up with it. Tried to post on my wordpress blog and it didn't work saying they only allow advertising if you have a stand alone wordpress site through one of their approved hosting servers.. or something along those lines. And to my surprise... I didn't see hostgator on the list. Did I just waste the $10 dollars on hostgator or can I still somehow use my wordpress page through their host service and include aflliliate links on it? If so how do I do it? When I was surfing this forum I though I remember people saying you can use a webpage designed through wordpress with any host out there. -Side note, I'm a complete newbie to affliate marketing. Hello, I live in Australia and I am just wondering if there are any affiliate networks which allow you to use a blogname.blogspot.com site (ie a sub-domain blog rather than your own top level domain website). I'm looking to make some money on my blog, other than adsense, and the only affiliate network I can find which doesn't specifically ask for a website url is clickbank (however I don't want to promote ebooks). Advertising on a Wordpress Blog? I recently became aware that you are not allowed to advertise or have affiliates in any way while using a blog at wordpress.com. I have searched the internet over for a question that no one has been able to answer so far. That question is: If you use a host that you pay for, to host your blog- like godaddy or something, will wordpress still nuke you? I need to know this because I am dissatisfied using blogspot.com where my blog is currently at. I used to use WP but now want to switch back- but I don't want to sacrifice my affiliates or advertising because I am using my blog for e-commerce and affiliate marketing purposes. How do you generate affiliate sales in a "timely" fashion? Here is another question I have for those of you familiar with the affiliate marketing business (where you promote other peoples' stuff on your website or blog). I've been in the affiliate marketing business for a while (I primarily use Linkshare, Commission Junction, Amazon, Ebay, Clickbooth and Clickbank as well as a few tiered affiliate programs, such as Global Domains International). However, I've noticed that some advertisers (especially at Commission Junction) expect you to generate sales for them in a "timely" fashion (say within 6 months or less) and some may terminate you from their program if you do not generate sales for them soon enough. I currently have 2 websites, but they do have a low page rank at the moment (they are relatively new after all) and so I don't get a whole lot of traffic to them. Anyways, is it possible to generate affiliate sales within a short time frame (say 6 months or less)? If so, what is the best approach to accelerating the process?

Wordpress design capabilities - is this design possible? I'm toying with the idea of creating an affiliate marketing website/blog using wordpress. I really like some of the magazine style themes, especially the MagPress theme. What I would like to know is whether or not it is possible to create half static/half blog pages within Wordpress? I know you can do both individually, but can you do both on the same page. I'll give an example of what I am looking for. I want a homepage in which the top half is "static" in that it never changes, while about midway down its sectioned off into different categories of blog posts showing new posts and featured posts. I would also like a menu bar that had about 5-7 different items (5-7 different products) and on each one of those pages have the same half static/half blog aspect as well. That way I could advertise the product at the top, then below use some type of autoblogging plugin that constantly changes the posts with new posts about the individual products, mainly so visitors can get different reviews of the products. Will a monetized video game review blog fall under "fair use"? Hi, I'm planning on starting a video game blog in which I would review, preview an post basic info on games, products, events and things like news in the gaming community. Now my question is: since I am using this for review preview and comment, would this fall under the "fair use" doctrine even if I were to use google adsense and affiliate marketing? Making a Pixel Website with a difference? Hi I'm thinking of setting up a pixel site thats different (quirky) for people to put their links on. A friend of mine proposed I start a blog and he be the web developer. What's a reasonable split for profits? I have no idea how much time it takes to write a blog versus creating, maintaining, and editing it (keeping up with and implementing the latest developments in internet technology and the blogosphere). My friend says he has 10 years of experience with web development and could provide all of the "internet marketing, e-commerce, blogging, search engine optimization, web application development, social networking, social media optimization, graphic design, interface design, copywriting, etc." He proposed splitting the profits from ads, affiliate links, etc. 50/50 and letting me keep 100% of the profits I get from referrals for my private counseling business, but 50/50 feels too high. What do you think is a reasonable percentage split of profits? Would you recommend splitting profits, or having some other business model (flat fee, hourly pay, etc.)? How likely is it that we will go to war with Iran? Saturday, September 1, 2007 The Sunday Times of London is reporting that the Pentagon has plans for three days of massive air strikes against 1,200 targets in Iran. Last week, Alexis Debat, director of terrorism and national security at the Nixon Center, told a meeting of The National Interest, a conservative foreign policy journal, that the military did not intend to carry out "pinprick strikes" against Iranian nuclear facilities. He said, "They're about taking out the entire Iranian military." Bush has already set the wheels in motion. With Rovian timing, Alberto Gonzales' resignation was sandwiched between two Bush screeds - one aimed at ensuring Congress scares up $50 billion more for the occupation of Iraq, the other designed to scare us into supporting war on Iran. As Gonzales rides off into the sunset, the significant questions are who will take his place and how that choice will facilitate Bush's occupation of Iraq and attack on Iran. One name that's been floated for Bush's third attorney general is Joe Lieberman, the "independent" senator from Connecticut. Lieberman, who advocates the use of military force against Iran, was the only person Bush quoted in his August 28 speech to the American Legion. Bush called Iran "the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism" and pledged to "confront Tehran's murderous activities." Gonzales greased the Bush/Cheney wheels for torturing in violation of the Geneva Conventions, illegally spying on Americans, and purging disloyal Bushies. Similarly, Lieberman would ensure the Justice Department mounts a vigorous defense of a war of aggression against Iran. And Bush would get a two-fer: Connecticut's Republican governor would appoint a Republican to fill Lieberman's seat, returning control of the Senate to the GOP. A Republican-controlled Senate would direct the agenda, thereby furthering the Bush/Cheney plan. Lieberman is closely affiliated with American Israeli Public Affairs Committee. "AIPAC leverages its power by an alliance with the Christian Right, which has adopted a bizarre ideology of 'Christian Zionism,'" according to University of Michigan professor Juan Cole. "It holds that the sooner the Palestinians are ethnically cleansed, the sooner Christ will come back. Without millions of these Christian Zionist allies," Cole added, "AIPAC would be much less influential and effective." During the 2004 election, a 100% "AIPAC voting record" was Lieberman's litmus test for an acceptable presidential candidate. As the House of Representatives was on the verge of passing a resolution that would've required Bush to consult Congress before attacking Iran, the AIPAC lobby stopped it in its tracks. Bush's WMD-hyping against Iran is déja vu in the run-up to Operation Iraqi Disaster, where he played loose and fast with the truth about Iraq's alleged WMDs. His statement that a nuclear Iran could put the region "under the shadow of a nuclear holocaust" conjures up his images of a "mushroom cloud" in the hype-up to Iraq. How inconvenient for Bush that the UN International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) just found Iran's uranium enrichment program is operating well below capacity and is nowhere near producing significant amounts of nuclear fuel. The IAEA report says that Iran "has been providing the agency with access to declared nuclear materials, and has provided the required nuclear material accountancy reports in connection with declared nuclear material and facilities." Iran and IAEA agreed on a plan with a step-by-step timetable of cooperation to settle unresolved issues. The agreement said there were "no other remaining issues and ambiguities regarding Iran's past nuclear program and activities," and characterized the accord as "a significant step forward." "This is the first time Iran is ready to discuss all the outstanding issues which triggered the crisis in confidence," said IAEA director general Mohamed ElBaradei. "I'm clear at this stage you need to give Iran a chance to prove its stated goodwill. Sanctions alone, I know for sure, are not going to lead to a durable solution" In 2003, when Dr. ElBaradei reported there was no evidence that Iraq was reconstituting its nuclear program, the White House was not pleased. And as Saddam Hussein became more cooperative with the weapons inspector, Bush became "infuriated," according to Bob Woodward. Bush's vow, "We will confront this danger before it is too late," is the Iran incarnation of his illegal preemptive war doctrine, which he inaugurated in Iraq. In a clear signal he is seeking regime change in Iran, Bush called for "an Iran whose government is accountable to its people, instead of leaders who promote terror and pursue the technology that could be used to develop nuclear weapons." Barnett Rubin reported on Global Affairs blog that one of the leading neo-conservative institutions has "instructions" from Dick Cheney's office to "roll out a campaign for war with Iran in the week after Labor Day; it will be coordinated with the American Enterprise Institute, the Wall Street Journal, the Weekly Standard, Commentary, Fox, and the usual suspects. It will be heavy sustained assault on the airwaves, designed to knock public sentiment into a position from which a war can be maintained. Evidently they don't think they'll ever get majority support for this - they want something like 35-40 percent support, which in their book is 'plenty.'" Bush/Cheney created the White House Iraq Group (WHIG) to lead a propaganda campaign to bolster public support for war with Iraq. The White House decided to wait until after Labor Day of 2002 to kick off WHIG's mission. Chief of staff Andrew Card explained, "From a marketing point of view, you don't introduce new products in August." Five years later, they're marketing a new and even more dangerous product - war with Iran. British military historian Corelli Barnett says "an attack on Iran would effectively launch World War III." Our military spending has reached $1 billion every 2-1/2 days and we are borrowing $2-1/2 billion per day. Bush is mortgaging our children's future security and wealth. We have lost more than 3700 soldiers in Iraq and tens of thousands of Iraqis have died. We have already seen how easily Congress caves in to AIPAC. It's up to the people. As Noam Chomsky said, "The most effective barrier to a White House decision to launch a war [on Iran] is the kind of organized popular opposition that frightened the political-military leadership enough in 1968 that they were reluctant to send more troops to Vietnam." how to earn without a having owns website in Commission Junction? Hi, I have publisher account in Commission Junction. I am new to CJ world introduced by one of my friend. I am having problem & great confusion regarding affiliate link, how to get them & use them I DON'T have a website but my friend told me that we can still use the 'link codes' in sites providing free ads in there classified section & also with google adword. I am confused what type of websites should i add using 'add new website' tab :( Just to try, i added 2 site ebay & rediff (allows posting free ads) in web site setting-> add new website. I have 153 advertisers from the drop down list at bottom of main page. When a click 'Go' to an advertiser say "Acronis' I get a new window where i get two 'code' for the two website ebay & rediff for banner/keyword link. I am confused on how to use them. Can i use the code shown by ebay in rediff site in there free ads section in classified or i will have to use it only in ebay site. Like link code shown by rediff.com to be used in there site only & that shown by ebay to be used in ebay likewise. Which code of the two i get from the two websites can i use in GOOGLE ADWORD & free ads section provided by various websites? i am confused over what sites are to be added as i don't have one & don't want to make one not even a blog :D. i want to get on with this program.
