Starting a new company - exactly how much patience is reasonable ? 5 months ago I started my own (internet) company. Business takes off incredibly slow. I am subscribed to just about any marketing newsletter, course, SEO courses, you name it, you can think of, and monitor all from dust till dawn. One of the rules that keeps coming back is that you need to have patience and perseverance, and more patience and perseverance. Sometimes I am on the verge of giving it up. Has anyone filed a declaratory judgment action against an unfair non compete clause? Hi. I have this non compete clause that is just ridiculous. I worked for a search engine optimization company and they made us sign a non compete that said we couldn't do ANY internet marketing anywhere in the world for 6 months. The thing is... How come American-owned websites are not as popular in China as in the rest of the world? Although Google is the most popular search engine in most countries, it is not as popular as its major competitors in China. I am interested if any negative information or links exist that may indicate Vortex Marketing Group, Joel Sauceda and his other companies and affiliates, including the somewhat less than glamorous products offered. Odd informational responses from all the standard search engines seems to defy what the mathematical statistiscs should dictate. In all my internet searches, everyone seems to be showing only good responses front loaded and supported internally by other members and their links driving the most popular to appear relevent. It seems to be a very suspicious pyamidal scam. The self sustaining free peer support system determined to gain entry into respectable ecommerce. Like an Amway or other such systems, using devices to slowly bait the interest and slowly feed the info. I am very concern because a relative called to help introduce me to this with, you know, a free benefactor code. What are the odds of getting a job in your city? Fact: I graduated a highschool and a college(both of them IT based), I have 2 years experience in a company in selling/marketing/programming. I speak 3 foreign languages. I have medium knowledge in several programming language(php/html/java script/mysql/flash) and picture editing(photoshop/corel draw) and I'm god at SEO(search engine optimization). Designed several web,sites, wrote and designed several articles for magazines, etc So...my question is...would a man with this description find a job in your town? Because I live in Romania and in my city I can't find a job in mostly any field(of course leaving out jobs like shoe sale sman or selling tomatoes in the market). Why do BIG companies have a stock market? This morning started playing a stock market game as practice to get used to the stock market and how it works. However, I don't get why HUGE multi billion dollar companies like COCA-COLA or MICROSOFT need a stock market. Even GOOGLE, being a search engine holds very high stocks. Why is this necessary? Why do people prefer Google over Yahoo! for searching? I don't work for Yahoo! or have any tangible stake in the company, however, everyone is always talking about 'Googling' this or that and I don't understand why. Google's homepage is devoid of any information or services that would make me even consider using it as a search engine. When I come to Yahoo's home page, it knows who I am, tells me I have new mail, shows me the news, and provides me with feature stories among other things. Furthermore, Yahoo and Google both take the same amount of time to load. On a personal note, I think Google looks like a novice high schooler designed it, while Yahoo could do without the shameless amount of advertising on its home and My Yahoo pages. Further confusing me is that Yahoo is the most visited domain on the internet, yet Google controls over 60% of the search engine market.
