How can neo-cons claim to love a free market while maintaining the idea of corporate welfare? I mean, how can a market be free if large corporations are handed bailouts? Free Market....Reaganomics? Any examples of where a Free Market has ever been implemented to build or strengthen a strong middle class... I can't seem to find any. Even the top down, reaganomics ideas, that have been practiced in the US over the past 25-30 years, have only seen wages, go down for working people and productivity increase (people working more hours for less money). While on the other hand the wealthy have only increased their wealth, and increased the gap between rich and poor. What do you think is a good marketing idea for gaining more students for lessons with gift certificates? I'm a dance instructor with a private studio and was thinking of passing out gift certificates for private lessons I teach. I don't teach large classes so I'm trying to attract students by marketing. What with protectionism, preventing foreign or domestic companies from operating within America's borders, laws preventing the free market to function (e.g. outlawing the sale of beneficial products, restricting the free flow of ideas and product), and spite (in some cases) of "elitist" economic ideas presented in Universities?

Do people still think that capitalism and the free market are a good idea? Because I see the destruction and misery it causes and wonder how people can possibilly champion a system that feeds off our baser instints of greed and selfishness ?

Should those of us who believe in the free market start calling ourselves "liberals" again? Afterall, aren't those who believe in big government now the "conservatives." Is not big government the status quo? Aren't the ideas of limited government and the free market now the radical opposition fighting against the advocates of the big government status quo? In fact, the term "liberal" originally referred to an advocate of the free market and only began to refer to moderate socialists in the 1930s. Why not reclaim it and make it clear that we are opposed to the conservative Obama and Bush regimes with their reckless spending and unprecedented increases in the size of government?

Why do republicans fear the idea of a well regulated free market system tempered by social responsibility? All we 'liberals" really want is a system that does not favor the elite to the detriment of the middle class. How much more simple and fair can this be? Isn't a completely free market a really bad idea? A free market is what got us into this mess. There was the repealing of Glass-Steagall Act and the passage of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act that enabled the poor banking practices that ruined the financial sector. It's not like we didn't know that the bankers couldn't be trusted to be left to their own devices. The current situation is no more than a magnified version of the Savings and Loan crisis of the late 80's.

Apartment marketing ideas? I work at a 304 apartment complex we are currently 84% occupied!! We do outreach marketing everyday! We have tried the passing out flyers to large companies small compaines you name it they got a flyer. We lowered the rents gave the first month free did a $35 $99 and $199 move in. Sure, freedom is a good idea, but how can you really trust a person not to go around and do bad things? In a free market, it is the people who are responsible for bringing crime to justice, whereas in a highly regulated government, there are rules and regulations as to who is guilty of what. True, governments can make mistakes, but it all comes down to who do you trust more? People, who are diverse, or Government, which is a small group of people following the same rules and regulations?
