- No, just INCREDIBLY annoying.
- afraid not, but you can just put the phone down
- You can call companies anytime you choose to. Don't be put off by a few negative comments about cold calling. If you do it correctly it can be a powerful marketing tool.
- [This answer applies to the UK] For the last 3 years, companies have had the same rights that individuals do to be put on a register of organisations that don't want to be cold-called. You need to check who you are calling, just as you'd need to check with the TPS when calling households. These restrictions only apply to calls made from within the UK, which is another reason (with cheap labour costs) that many companies have moved their outbound call centres to places like India - where the law doesn't apply. Done properly, cold-calling can be a good way to generate business. Done wrongly, it can back-fire massively.
- if i ran the world, cold calling would be illegal at all times in all circumstances, and would be punishable by whipping the culprits in the town square.
