What is direct selling and any differences between direct selling and direct marketing?

How many companies in Malaysia are doing direct selling business? Does the scam problem affect the direct selling business?

1. Direct selling is when a sales person does the pitch, direct marketing is when it is done in mass either via mail, internet or telephone
2. ds means selling directly n dm means u market advertising n selling product by others also but difference is in ds u only sell as a monopolist where as in dm u make n sell through by many by having direct supervision.
