I want to know if there are certain standards that make a network marketing company legitimate and legal?

- One of the determining factors is whether or not something is really being marketed. Many times a fraudulent network marketing plan will involve no product or service at all, but merely be "selling" to others the right to sell to others the right to sell the offer, and the offer is nothing more than the right to sell to others the right to sell the offer. To obtain this right requires a fee of some sort, and this gives you the right to then sell to others the right to sell the same thing to others that you just sold to them. To get around this selling of nothing, which is a violation of postal regulations, many multi-level marketers will sell one-page reports, which are usually a report on how to sell reports.
