University Alumni Tours?

Question Details: I work for a tour operator and want to reach out to the educational institute (Alumni, college tours, study programs, musuem ) to market our service and arrange tours for these insitutions. Can someone give me advice on how I may start? Which department I should contact? Can I attend some trade shows? What are some good ideas and approaches? I am not familiar with this field, so would really appreciate your professional suggestions. Or do any companies provide such service? We know how to prepare great proposals, but don't know 'WHO' to send these to, and 'WHERE' do we meet the person in charge of the travel arrangement at these instituions. Please help me brainstorm and give me your ideas. What would be a practical way to start? If you can offer very good step by step guidances, or even have experience dealing with this, I would even consider hiring you on this. Thank you very much!

1. I would suggest that you contact the Alumni Association first and foremost. When I graduated, my university's Alum Assoc. offered a tour of Europe and all of the information was circulated by the Association, not a third party. If you got in touch with the Alumni Association, they would be able to give you an idea of what their grads would be interested in, and they might place advertisements for you in the alumni newsletters or something.
