Is there a website where I can get a (free) list of addresses for targeted marketing?

I want to send promos out to people in my area that might be interested in tutoring. I know that companies usually have like special directories they go off to mail people who fit their customer type.

1. I hope not. People don't want more junk mail in their mailbox. You should pay to advertise through legitimate media (who really want advertising dollars) such as local newspapers, radio and TV stations.

3. I think the best idea would be to make a flyer, or post card telling others of your tutoring service. Yo can do that by going into or near a school yard and give flyers out to parents, and babysitters. You can leave at the local library. If there is a technical college nearby, ask of you can leave a flyer there as well. If there are community colleges etc...do the same even if you are a tutor of young children. Your goal is to honestly get people's information. Allow those who are interested in you contact you. When they get back to you take their name, telephone number, address. That's a way to build your own list.
4. Title companies can help you if your into real estate stuff. Otherwise try the Hains Directory at your "good" library. I did flyers for "Algbra Tutoring" and hung them in telephone booths near public libraries and it worked for me.
