What to present before pitching?
OK, so I have a meeting very soon with some potential investors/directors of my soon to be software company. What documents should I take along when I pitch to them? I was thinking business plan, marketing plan, market research and a separate table showing start up costs. I also think that our two main programs should be shown, although not yet in development I have done substantial market research on them, and 1 is ready to enter development. I should also add that I am quite young, and some investors are my parents, and they don't really believe I could do this at my age, so i have put lots of effort into it to show that my age should not count against me. What else should I take? What style of dress should I wear? The dress style is for a woman Bob the Boat are you talking to me? I have stated that I am creating and then selling software. I am sorry if it was not me you were talking to but I was confused by your post.

- Wear a suit. Or at the very least a tie...as far as documents..bring everything....but make sure you dont have to "search" much for whatever data you need. Because you are young it is imperative that you exude confidence. You are a "salesman" right now...and you are "selling" them on the fact that you know exactly what you are doing. They will try to make you waver...but being prepared for anything will help you. Dont get excited...dont change your tone..let your facts speak for themselves...I wish you luck...
- Your behind before turning and delivering the ball (base ball). Concise logical plans and aims at start and down the road abit but not the long term future of the company , dont start by talking money, be direct dont waffle or pad your presentation, dress smart but not over the top (no jeans)
- Oh dear, Water Mittie. You live in a dream world. I can tell by the simple fact that you do not state what the product is that you have. Get a grip on real life, and you may stand a chance
- A few things. When speaking with VCs age does not matter (unless you are like under 18). You need to have a solid business plan and pro formas. The marketing plan, market research, start up cost table are all part of the business plan. Good luck.
