Is this a real company Direct Results of Atlanta, Inc ?
I saw this a couple of days ago. I just applied for this job in July 2008 and I got the same response. Is this job legitor is this just another marketing, door-to-door scam. READ BELOW. I applied for a position that I saw on CareerBuilder, and this is the company hosting it. They advertised for positions at a new local warehouse that is opening: "Local distribution company expanding into new markets for 2007, has entry level positions that must be filled IMMEDIATELY!!!" I got this reply back by e-mail: Congratulations, We'd like to thank you for taking your time to apply for a position Direct Results, Inc. We understand how competitive the Atlanta job market currently is and your interest in our company is appreciated. To date, we have received several resumes for the positions available. After careful review of your resume, we would like to congratulate you, for you have been selected for a preliminary interview.

- They are one of those silly marketing places. I would call it a 'scam' because it's more like a run-around. It is for sure a Marketing place of some type, but sorry...I can't give any more info on it. I skipped over that every time. They are "always hiring" on career websites, of course. Probably because they can't find enough suckers to push their schemes. That "congratulations" e-mail reply sounds extremely tacky and generic. Everyone likely gets that automatically sent to them. Notice how it doesn't even fill in your name as in "Dear <your name here.>" But rather, uses a generic "Congratulations" as a greeting...with no name to address you. Scammers use this same tactic when trying to pretend to be a bank, Ebay, Paypal, etc. Whereas a real company would incorporate your name and address you directly. Scammers pretending to be legit businesses don't necessarily know the names of people that have bank accounts, etc. ...so that's why they do it. They don't list names...just a general greeting. This tells you it's not that 'serious' of a reply - probably thousands of people got that stupid reply. Don't bother with them...they seem very scam-like. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I have come across them (I live in Atlanta) while job searching. Skip right over them...even a Retail job is better than something like that. Even if they are real, you can count on having a ton of pressure on you to do their 'marketing.' Likely telemarketing...you do all the work while the CEO of the company gets paid for it. There usually aren't that many 'employees' with the company, either...very few. Which is why it's different than other jobs.
