Is there an email marketing software?

Does anyone know if there is a software I can use to send out mass email marketing campaigns as we all get from corporate giants like Apple, Microsoft, Rogers, Go Daddy.com and so on. I know there are third party websites that offer this service such as Constant Contact but I want to know is there a software that does all this instead? Also looking for a software that can track data/statistics for my marketing campaigns at the same time (if possible). I don't want no monthly charge. I want to buy a software like I would buy any other software for my computer.

1. I have used mailking in the passed but I think this is now obsolete. An alternative might be mail list king which does all the basics really well and includes good reporting on your campaigns. Alternatively you shouldn't discount using a email specialist as the costs now are very competitive vs one of software purchase.
