Using my real name online?

I'm getting into affiliate marketing and am looking to network with other affiliate marketers....as well as create a blog covering various subjects about affiliate marketing. I'm nervous to share my real name as their is a lot of identity theft and other things that happen online. Anyone have ideas?

  1. If you look closely at all this blog stuff you will note the reality is nobody is making any money and if they claim they are its a lie...... The only ones making money are the ones that charge a fee -- -- And if you don't give a real name how do you get paid? -- You don't -- Give nobody your name --- 95% of this stuff is a waste of time / a scam / trollers for SS #'s and credit card info / dreamers that talk a good game.........
  2. Using your personal name is not a real issue if you keep the amount of information you provide to a minimum. Ask yourself if you want to brand yourself, or a company. Then choose which name to use on the blog. Blogs that include a personal name for a signature offer more credibility than those who simply sign the articles with a company name. So even though you post with your company name, you can add your personal name at the bottom. That helps brand both. You will never add personal information such as social security numbers, drivers license, or any other sensitive identifying information anyway. That is how identity theft is made possible; not just by providing your name.
  3. Using your real name versus using online screen names can bring trust and credibility in the business world.
