Mobile Spa-ideas for growth in this bad economy?
I own a mobile spa. I haven't made much profit since its start earlier this year. I know it takes a long time for a business to grow but, with the economy the way it is I was thinking of another way to go about it. Like perhaps marketing it as an event planning company and branching out a bit. I love what I do but let's face it, lack of profit is VERY discouraging even for something you love. Mobile spa prices are higher than day spas because we come to you and I just don't think people are trying to spend the extra money to have this luxury. What are some other ways I can try to make a decent profit in this down-trodden economy? Ways I can better advertise to potential clients about what I offer, which is professional spa services on-location.

- There is nothing better then word of mouth. Get your existing clients to send their friends. Offer them some sort of incentive to do so, like 25% off next massage or treatment for each friend they send to you.
- Hi, I am working with a mobile spa services lady right now in Arizona. She is not a massage therapist and she is not an aesthetician. But still provides spa services as a consultant with products that does not require alot of hands on which is what it sounds like you do. What she does is provide a variety of spa services that equal $125.00 value. She supplies gift certificates to this effect. She then finds organizations that need a fund raiser. They go out get donations of $20.00 for their organization and the people as a thank you gift receive a gift certificate. Information is taken as to who has received a gift certificate, name, address, phone, email. This is given to her so she can follow up with those who received the certificates and book those people. Also the certificate is good for up to 8 people so if the person who received the certificate can share their spa experience with 7 other people in their home. She does the booking and sells her products. Then she has all those leads to go back to for follow-up. She has worked with Boy Scouts, Drama Boosters, any high school, junior high, or even elementary groups. The sky is the limit with this one.
