Comptia a+ and network+ training?
Hello, I have a bachelors degree in Technology. I have drafting courses that I have taken while going to school. I haven't been able to obtain a drafting job by taking these courses due to factors such as not having the job experience in this industry. I decided to broaden my skills by taking some comptia a+ and network+ classes this Spring and test for the certifications to have more marketable skills. I really had the love for drafting years ago when I started however I somewhat lost some of the desire of it. I really like the fact of being able to troubleshoot hardware and software problems on computers and believe that this can really help me obtain a competitive edge in today's job market. My question is should I continue to pursue my drafting career in which I have taken quite of bit courses but not yet landed a job with or take the Comptia A+ and Network+ courses which I hear may give you a more advantage in the job market because of the demand of fixing and repairing computers.

- Personally I have not found certifications to be the 'holy grail' of getting a job. Many employers prefer experience to certifications. The IT industry is especially fond of experience. It sounds like both career tracks (drafting and IT) require you to get an entry level position.
- If you've worked an IT job, you'll have no problems with the A+ test (you might not even need to take the class since you already have a degree). I used one of those A+ study tests and then took the test. You'll find that just like a degree, the test helps prove that you know a certain set of skills, but an employer is probably going to still look at your experience. Either way, with the state that the economy is in, many places aren't hiring. Don't get discouraged.
- Yes it will help you and as a employer it helps Us , hiring only A+ certified techs allows us to carry the A+ certified service center a great marketing tool. also it shows a client as a A+ certified center we pride our selves on only hiring trained Techs. However never stop at just A+ continue to get as many certifications as possible
- i think its a good thing that you already in the job which you want to be certified this is a plus point for your certification. i know many of the guys like you they doing jobs in IT and they wanna upgrade themselves and they have not much time to focus on the study may be you too face these kind of problems i suggest if you try some simulators or practice software that helps you in study these are not the brain dumps but these are the practice software. http://www.selfexamengine.com
