Why do free markets typically secure more economic prosperity than government's centralized planning?

Is it because free markets allow for GROWTH, while a centralized planned economy is maintained at an established level that doesn't allow for growth?

  1. Both kinds of economies allow for growth but capitalism is far more effective. This is because you allow people the freedom to own business. If someone is allowed to own there own business they are more motivated to be successful because of the wealth they can gain. Government controlled economies give most of the profits to the government reducing the incentive to create and work hard. Another reason is that government is simply not as good at running business as the people who are the CEO's of there specific industries because they are politicians not business men. The most important reason for free enterprise is the fact that it allows us to chose our own destiny in life and work and we are not told what to do and what to study by the government.
