What's the quickest free way to market a website?

It's doing well, I like it anyway! But I want it to do better - this doesn't mean I want links to money-making schemes though, just honest simple answers please,thanks!

1. Make a website that you have a personal interest in.(hobbies,crafts,webdesign,etc.)Give things away free.Join some affiliates programs,not sure if Yahoo has one,but I know Google does. Do thing like that to make money from your website. Then sell it(not if UR making alot of money talking thousands a month) Sell it on Ebay or a high profile source.
