Does anybody have any good ideas for this Marketing Project?

I am in a college level Marketing 200 class. For our term project we have to create a product or improve a product that we can then apply to segmented markets and how we will market the product. Feel free to be as creative as you can. If there is something you always thought should be a real product...please let us know about it. Thank You for all your replies in advance.

1. Here's one that would be really relevant and really helpful today: A home mortgage rescue fund, (something like a mutual fund). The government is bailing out the banks at great taxpayer expense, but not really helping the homeowners whose mortgages are failing. The rescue fund would be like a mutual fund in that public shares of it would be sold. The fund would buy the mortagages from the banks, then redo the terms on them so the homeowners could continue to manage their payments. The mortgages that have failed are mostly variable rate mortgages. The interest rate was maybe 3% when the families took out the loans. Then it went way up, like to 8%. People couldn't afford that. The banks are claiming lost income based on the 8% rate, but all they really lost is the value of the home. So a fund that lowers the interest rate to something realistic, like 5% or 6% would still profit from the interest. And homeowners would keep their homes. And the fund would get the loans at a good price, since the banks want to dump them. The segmented markets would be individual investors, corporate investors, possibly communities, maybe even financial companies.
