- The realities of life, and a collapsing belief structure that was outmoded 50 Years ago.
- Trust me, as a repub, I'm ashamed. None of us repub's ever said we were for it or totally for the election of McCain. He is simply far better than the avowed socialist, Obama.
- The democratic congress. That's what happened.
- It is a shame that people don't realise that all governments ,weather they be communist, capitalist, dictatorships or what ever form of government you select, the people in charge want to stay in charge. And they will do whatever it takes to get power. A perfect example is McCain. Once called a maverick and a straight talker . He now employs the very people who smeared him all over the place. Accusing him of fathering an illegitimate black daughter. That's what's happening .. The people in power [republicans] want to stay there , no matter how low they are prepared to go and what lies they are prepared to tell.
- The presumption was that everybody is entitled to a home and a mortgage. A noble cause to be sure. It didn't work. The demand to put more people in houses created the real estate boom. It didn't take much to burst the bubble because the market couldn't sustain itself. It started to snowball when foreclosures caused real estate prices to fall. At that point people owed more money than their house was worth. A lot of people simply walked away from their mortgage. The banks could foreclose but could never recoup their money. It was massive bad debt. Truly, the congress is voting on it. We control control congress. I don't see how it can be a republican thing. We're all in this together. It really is all us (meaning dems & repubs) and not just "them". There needed to be enforcable regulation from the beginning. Credit was extended to everybody. ("No credit, no problem") This is one democrat who can take responsability for my parties part in this mess. Come on, let's stop this bickering and work together. Enough is enough!
- I hear you. You're preaching to the choir.
- small govt free market republican conservative right here and i am PISSED at George Bush's selfishness. he couldn't leave well enough alone, let things fall, had to save it for now so things wouldn't go down on his watch and now things are going to be even worse when we do go down
- you are correct it is a bailout its disgusting shame on them
- They sold out to a globalist agenda - starting w/ Bush I.
