Do websites like Career Builder, Monster, or Yahoo HotJobs actually find you a "real" professional job?
I just graduated from college with a B.B.A. in General Business and I'm looking to find a "real" professional job. I know it's gonna be tough with the bad job market right now, but I was told that websites like Yahoo Hot Jobs, Career Builder, and Monster really are not that great to find a professional job. Is this true? I was told that from these kind of websites, you'll get phone calls from companies that'll offer you sales jobs with a high turnover rate or from lame temp agencies that'll find you jobs making $13 or $14 an hour.

- They are ok, but their are so many staffing agencies on those sites; don't make your resume public. Also, look into banking jobs like TD or Capital One until the economy gets better.
- From my experience yes these websites have alot of companies like the ones you mentioned. They will make the job sound good and when you apply for it is when you will get a call from the company and find out that it is for a sales job or some kind of call center like you mentioned with a high turnover rate. There is a place in my area that is listed on there all the time and I know the place and what they do there. They don't pay like they say they do and the turnover rate is very high obviously, or why would they be listed on there. Good Luck!
- Last week it was in the news. They said that Monster.com or Monstertrack something like that was hacked and the hacker stoles the members' personal information. So you better be careful as to where you put your resume.
