I am wanting to hear from people who have GENUINELY made money from affiliate marketing. I am looking at getting into it and would like to know how much start up i would need to do this.

Hi mate, YES it does work, ive used it before on a tiny tiny website and made 25 quid in a week, this website was only gettin about minimum ammount of hits a day. Its pretty good when you have the correct placements and techniques, i would be happy to help you get started. I would start off with affiliate window. Its easy and pretty good. You can generate revenue by blogging and just adding affiliate links or ads. Yes, you can. There are many people making money online, but they forget to tell you that it took them a while. Almost all of us who started out struggled because we either fell for scams or bought into programs that gave us like 85% of the information but left out that last crucial 15%. I ran across one program, after wasting hordes of money, that teaches everything by video. All the techniques. This guy has been doing this stuff since Google first came up with advertising on their website. So he's seen what it was like before and the difference there is today. I tried his techniques, and I made $156 the next day. I also made another $24 elsewhere on another product. I'm still trying to improve, but that's excellent compared to months of making absolute zero. Some niches work better with one technique than others. You'll eventually figure out which ones go better with which. I recommend you try it out. The salespage videos explain everything. And if it's not for you, then no big deal, you can try something else. In the 9 months I've been trying to do this stuff, this guy is the best I've seen. You get the best bang for your buck. He'll tell you the kind of the stuff that sells well, too. It's $97/month. But there's no requirement to stay for any length of time. You can stay in for just a month until you learn what you need, but most people stick around because he's always adding new and improved info. You want to get in while you can. At some point, he's going to shut off this program so he can keep it small and manageable, and he's already got a lot of people in it now.
People can definitely make a lot of money with affiliate marketing... however it isn't a get rich quick scheme. You don't so much need start up capital as much as you need the dedication to put in the time to get your affiliate site of the ground. Be wary of sites that make it sound too easy... there is such thing as too good to be true! There are a lot of good resources available though. (link below) The biggest thing though, aside from time, is finding a niche that really excites you and that you can get passionate about. It will help you keep going at the start when things are tough and it will make it far simpler and enjoyable than if you're working with something you don't really care for.
