  1. The absolute first thing to do is investigate your state's resources to help you export. Each state has an office of international commerce or business - check with the Secretary of State's or Economic Development office. The international trade office is charged with the responsibility to help local businesses export and they are usually funded by the state budget. Department of Commerce in DC may also be a resource. Trade missions are a terrific way to make foreign connections - Dept. or Commerce runs them all over and your state may as well. You’ll need to decide where you want to export to and understand why. Every trade mission I have been one has a fee for the researching that Commerce will do on your behalf. They'll recommend distribution models, partnerships, direct distribution, franchises, etc. and then find the people you'll need to meet. VERY comprehensive. I’d start with those resources as they are mostly free or low-cost.
  2. To begin first of all Register your company as member with local Chamber of Commerce, Export Promotional Council. These are the institutions from where you will able to get the info about the potential region and potential buyers, where in and whom to you may contact with particulars of your products and services to achieve breakthrough in global market.
  3. By having faith in God up against ALL odds.
  4. TRADESHOWS In 2007, I have been to Romania and there a factory makes some great man made leather shoes which some are sold to high class fashion houses such as Armani, Gucci ect. I wanted to import some shoes myself before they got branded. I did not have the big budget so i requested about 25 samples which were not that high priced and hit the trade show of Shoe Market International Americana in Miami Florida. I paid a seller $100 for the last 2 hours of the show to lend me his booth with the promise i will clean up his mess (booth rentals at an international show are $1500+ a day) It was the end of the day but still i could manage to pass out a few hundred business cards. Nothing happened that day so on Saturday I sold my shoes at the flea market. 8 months later i get a call for a meting to showcase the shoes. I only had a catalog but i went. Within 2 weeks i signed a deal of 1.6 million pairs of sandals and flip-flops with an option to extend with Walgreens. Once you get your feet in the door rest is much easier. They come to you my friend ....they come to you. So trade shows use them!!!
  5. Best solution is still to have a website and work seo in order for it to get exposure... concentrate efforts in international markets... maybe a page in Spanish, another in German and a third in French would help
  6. First I recommend you get some good hosting, I recommend http://www.hostmonsterplus.com . Then build a site with all the information about your products. After your site is complete start using the free Google credits that came with http://www.hostmonsterplus.com to start some advertising. After you start to make some money, prepare an affiliate program so you pay maybe $x per sale or % or $x sale to the person who finds you the sale. Then you have your own sales team in essence, but only pay them when you make money. I'd start focusing on some ideas like these. The reasons why I use http://www.hostmonsterplus.com as my host? http://www.hostmonsterplus.com is best for both price and quality. These are just some of my reasons: It comes with built in Site builders and a range of CMS's. It supports PHP, MySQL, and almost anything you'll need. It comes with a free domain name... ex: whateveryouwant.com It has unlimited storage and bandwidth. You can also add an unlimited amount of domain names. So with one account you can have many different .com websites. I have about 14 right now all on one account. Only $3.95 per month. (£29 Per Year) They also give you free $50 Google Credits for advertising your site. I've been using them for 4 years and I'll give them my thumbs up. Best of luck whatever decision you make.
