I want to do graphic/web design but I need a school in chicago I can get training?

If someone is hiring a designer, is it important that they have a associates in graphic design from a school like Devry or ITT, or a person has taken some classes from a school like SAIC, but doesn't necessarily have an associates (I do have a bachelor's in marketing already)... also considering that they have a good portfolio. The reason why I ask, is I am not disciplined enough to learn the software by myself. I need teachers and network. I am a little scared of all these technical schools, because I am afraid they are all a scam and do not give you good training. Since I already taken a semester at SAIC, I know their education is good. Instead of getting my degree I want to take all the classes that would help me build my graphic design portfolio. Bottom line is I want to do graphic/web design but I need a place where I can go for training. Are there any schools that you have heard of or know of that would be good to look at?

1. graphic and web design schools? Well, you should consider search on reference websites. I have just found on Google two examples of what seems to be good ones (resource box). In addiction, why don't you ask design students on social network sites like Facebook? You can get you question answered really fast =) wish you all the luck!
