  1. <Multi-level marketing> is a term that describes a marketing structure used by some companies as part of their overall marketing strategy. The structure is designed to create a marketing and sales force by compensating promoters of company products not only for sales they personally generate, but also for the sales of other promoters they introduced to the company, creating a downline of distributors and a hierarchy of multiple levels of compensation. The products and company are usually marketed directly to consumers and potential business partners by means of relationship referrals and word of mouth marketing. Some examples of companies that sell their products using MLM are: AVON, Oriflame, Amway, Zepter and so on.
  2. Multilevel Marketing is a way for companies to get their products out through a grass roots type distribution process. It cuts out the middle man to a point, but people are paid as a result of how much they sell, as well as how much the people in their downline sells. Often, it is more a point of getting people in than selling products, and many people in the upper levels, sell books and tapes that explain why they do well, and that is where they get most of their money. If you are interested in finding a program, look for something that has a pay plan that works for you and a product that interests you! You can't sell something you don't like! If you think you can recruit people than almost any company has a plan that could work. If you have trouble recruiting look for a company such as Mandura, where it is a team effort.
  3. it's about alienating all your friends and family trying to recruit them, making very little money and spending lots of time making very little money
