7. I suggest you get into niches that have less competition. Niches like "make money online" are just crazy with competition. Here's the formula I follow: 1. Keyword research: I pick low hanging easy keywords using Google's keyword tool and SEO Book's keyword tools. 2. Competitive analysis: I use tools like FireFox, Google Global Add-on to do competitive analysis. 3. Build pages: I build pages on free websites like Squidoo, HubPages etc.. because these pages rank easily. 4. Build backlinks: I use other free sites along with article directories to create free backlinks to my pages so that it ranks well. 5. Rinse and repeat.
