How does Apple plan to take their HUGE hit from the Great ZUNE HD?

However, the Zune HD has what the iPod Touch lacks, such as... -ZunePass (Download all the music you want for $15/month, keep 10 songs per month DRM-Free) -720p HDMI output (watch FULL HD MOVIES ON TV!) -An aesthetically nice software (Zune 4.0 interface is very pretty to look at, not a dull spreadsheet like iTunes) -An aesthetically nice device OS (Artist pictures and info float around while playing a song, it's cool) -OLED screen (brighter, more vibrant than LCD) -Free HD Radio!!!!!!! -Radio "tagging" (If you like a song you hear on the radio, "tag" it to add it to your cart for download) -A feature called "Smart DJ" that functions identically to the online radio service "Pandora" but has no limitations on skips and allows you to rate/download songs you like. Requires a ZunePass though. -XBOX Live integration -An advanced nVidia Tegra Chip (A couple of graphically-intense 3D games are coming out this fall, like Burnout: Ferrari Edition) -On-demand music (play music online with your Zune HD, don't need to download it to your hard drive) -LONGER BATTERY LIFE!!! You will be sooo satisfed with your Zune HD. It is smaller, the screen is so much better, the SOUND QUALITY is much higher, it is easier to navigate, and you can use it to watch movies on your tv! Your friends will be jealous ;) BTW apple had to slash their prices in half in order to compete with the Zune because everyone is switching. I had a touch and it hadd so many problems. The only argument they have is they have a ton of Apps. Those apps are useless and a waste of time - just a marketing ploy. The other argument is "you just cant afford the Touch".. The prices are relatively the same so you know they are just making things up and are immature. If I was apple - I would be really scared right now. The fanboys are trembling as we speak

  1. My opinion is that people need to get over the Zune vs. iPod thing. I mean all it will do is force both of them to start making better and better devices, which is better for us.
  2. Haha...as much as I LOVE my Zune HD it hardly put a dent in the sales of the ipod line. even if the HD is a better media player (which it is) it still wont compete sales wise with the ipod touch. the zune line has gotten so much negative feedback since the original 30GB zune that it just wont recover....even if the HD is nothing like the original zunes. plus, people are obsessed with apps at this point in time....and MS is doing nothing to push apps ath the moment...we have like 15 apps, and while they are all good, there is just not as many as the ipod touch (not much of a big deal to me as i have no use for apps) also, advertising....where is MS on this? the only place i see ads for the HD is on youtube and facebook every once in a while. never do i see on on TV. i can guarantee that if you take a poll of people looking for a portable media player (PMP) i would say maybe half of them know what a zune is...the other half is going to the store to get an ipod. as much as i love your way of thinking (zune owns ipod) it just isn't going to happen no matter how much you want it to. the zune team has to open up an SDK for 3rd party developers for zune HD apps, do some serious marketing, and push the great features of zune for it to make even a marginal dent on the ipod sales.
