Please help me decide which job to take?!?!?
I know....boo hoo what a dilemma huh? I've been offered 2 different jobs and I'm trying to decide which one will be the best for me. 1st offer: 20 minute drive It's a sales type job and they offer no bonuses, paid hourly company seems cheap (doesn't want to spend money) new staff and nobody will know what they are doing new computer system, that nobody knows office is nice - not impressive really more casual and laid back atmosphere (dress and attitude wise) i will share an office with an associate requires mandatory marketing (cold calling etc) 2nd offer: An hour drive Company seems good - rewards etc. Offers a good bonus structure long time staff who knows their jobs well nicer newer office very impressive i will have completely my own workspace attitudes seem a little uptight, more professional (maybe even a bit snobby) very professional attire required they give a clothing allowance good location for lots of walk in customers I do not know what either company offers for health ins. Please help me decide..... 2 hours ago - 4 days left to answer. Additional Details **Don't forget that 2nd job offer is an hour drive one way

- are your diamond shoes too tight? lol who pays more? thats the basic question
- I'd personally drive further to the more professional company with better prospects and bonuses, long term staff - all these things say "good company" to me.
- It all depends on what you are more comfortable with and what you are willing to put up with. Since you list the driving distance first, I assume that that is the most important thing to you. Let's take this comparison further. Job #1: One week - 3hours 20 minutes, One month- 13hrs 20min Job#2: One week - 10 hours, One month - 40 hours In a little more than one week, you will drive about the same amount in Job #2 as you will in a month for Job #1. Is moving an option? The 1st company seems like a start-up. Are you interested in muddling through with everyone else while they are trying to figure things out? The second job has things together. You will probably have fewer worries at job #2. Do you enjoy dressing professionally or would you rather be more casual? That is entirely your preference. Do you enjoy working with uptight snobby people? If so, Job #2 is for you! However, that may have been the first impression you got from them. Once you get to know these people, they may not be so bad. Do you like cold calling (ugh!)? If you do, Job #1 is right up your alley. The safer choice would be Job #2. Job #1 may "drive" you crazy, if those people don't get their act together. Cheap is never a good thing. Why don't you know what they offer for health insurance? That is really important. You may be young and you don't need insurance so you don't care right now, but it will matter later. Find out exactly what they offer and how much if anything you have to contribute out of pocket. Do they offer dental? (some companies don't). Find out. It may not be a big deal now, but it will become one. Anyway, good luck whichever job you choose.
