I need a simple,direct answer as to how affiliate marketing works.?

I was sent a link to a website about this, but I have 3 kids AND I'm going to school. Anyone??? Help???

1. You are a middleman. You send traffic to the merchant, and if anyone buys their products, you get paid a commission. If nobody buys, you don't get paid. There are many affiliate marketers making tons of money online. However you need to get yourself educated. Be careful of the many scams that prey on newbies trying to learn the ropes of this business.
2. Its commission based therefore you should consider whether or not it is worth it. You get paid for anything that you sold. Just do more research about the company and compare their term and conditions with other affiliate marketing companies. Just dont get scammed by a companies that only share 1% of its profit. 3. Hi Amanda, Affiliate marketing is basically third party marketing. Company 2 has the rights to market Company 1. They then give those rights to Company 3. Any leads that Company 3 generates, they sell to Company 2 and keep a margin of the profit. Company 2 then sells those leads to Company 1 and keeps a margin of the profit. Many times, these rights can be passed down to several companies and the chain just gets longer and longer. Sorry if that was confusing, but I tried to say as simply as I could. Hope it helps!
