When liberals complain about the "free market" why do they fail to acknowledge the federal reserve?

is it because fixed interest rates is a form of economic planning and completely debunks their notion that we have a free market? it doesn't matter if it's part of the government or not. the point is that under a free market the free market sets interest rates, not Ben Bernanke

  1. A central bank, which is what the Federal Reserve is, is also Karl Marx's 5th plank of communism. Our money is not "free" in any sense. The Federal Reserve controls the value of each and every dollar we have in our wallets. After about 100 years, the trend has been a consistent devaluing of our money. It's only worth about 4% from where it started. Thumbs down for the truth!
  2. Isn't it conservatives who are always talking about the "free market"? Isn't it conservatives who are complaining about government regulation of the "free market"?
  3. Liberals are aware that the federal reserve is criminal enterprise existing above the law
  4. You seem to forget that the federal reserve is not part of the government
  5. A free market would not have fixed interest rates. The rates would always float depending on what the consumer could withstand even if some consumers were lost in the process.
  6. Just because the federal reserve exists doesnt meant that there is no free market processes at work that is a deductive fallacy. There would still be self interested corporations, economic processes that upset communities and the environment and there would still be certain divisions of labour and laws of supply and demand which mean that people would live under acceptable living standards and that people born into bad situations wouldn't be able to do better. Ther would still be faltering health insurance markets and possibly still atrocious corporate structures at banks. None of these problems can be solved by the central bank alone so its appropriate for liberals to still talk about regulating the free market or government intervention to help those in need.
