Will this make my Xbox live run smoothly?

Right now im using a free linkseys network and i am allowed to play online, some days it runs smoothly and other days i lag so bad i just turn it off, ( This happens all the time) ----> and when it download demos, games, etc it takes forever or doesnt DL at all, also i cant even watch videos or movies on netflix. So would this Clear mobile internet for my laptop be better for me? i dont wanna spend $50 a year for the xbox gold and i cant use over half of what it can give me. Oh and i cant even use facebook or twitter with the linkseys signal... just throwing it out there
