Who came up with the idea of globalization and free market?

Globalization and free market seemed to be an exciting idea, until little people / farmers found that it works to disadvantage them. Who actually proposed the idea of globalized economy and free markets? Didn't they think of its negative impact?

1. Nobody "came up with it". It is the natural result of allowing individual freedom. Millions of people decide the course of markets every day. What people "come up with" are ways try to thwart the market, all of which are ultimately futile and bring with them bad, sometime disastrous, consequences.
2. It was low-income single mothers who were greedily buying $10 Chinese-made sneakers for their kids from Walmart, instead of being patriotic and buying $50 US-made sneakers from a brand store.
