3. Both. Economic planing for social needed programs, such as schools, roads, police, fire department etc. Free market for industry such as cars, food products, service industry, manufacturing.
4. Central Planning suffers the same problem as Plato's Republic. Plato said that society should put wise men in charge. Everyone know that putting "wise men" in charge is stupid. Who gets to decide who is wise. Who does the picking. That is why Democracy is better than Plato's Republic. Central Planning suffers the same problem as Plato's Republic. It is the idea of having wise men in charge of the economy. The question is who do you pick, who does the picking, And once in charge, do you trust that these wise men will make selfless choices to benefit you?
