- Start with Clickbank.com since it's one of the original affiliate networks, but you can just Google "affiliate networks" and you'll get more than enough examples. Basically what you do is find a product that someone else has created, pre-sell that product with a website and on that website you have an affiliate link that takes interested prospects to the publishers (creator of the product) website where they do all the selling. They positive aspect of affiliate marketing is that you can start with very little out pocket expense, you don't have to have your own product, you don't have to hire any body and once things start working you can only be working a few hours day if you so choose. Here are the most basic things you'll need to get started. 1. A product to promote 2. A hosting account and Domain Name 4. A website/blog to pre-sell that product 5. A PayPal account to have payments sent to you 6. An Auto Responder- Optional but imperative for long-term success To start. Find product that you have some type of passion for. Finding something that you know nothing about will make it much more difficult to succeed. So let say you find a product on gardening. You create a gardening blog surrounding the topics of your product. You get targeted traffic to come to your site, they read your pre-sell page about your gardening product and they click on your affiliate link to visit the sales page. They like it and end up buying it. It a $47 dollar ebook and you get 50% commission. So Clickbank (if that's who you're with) will record the sale, get the money from the customer, split it between you and the publisher and you continue to drive traffic and continue the process. 10 sales a week at 23.50 is $230.50. If you can learn how to drive enough traffic you can do that in a day. That's over a thousand a week which isn't going to make you rich, but it's not bad money. Hope this helps
- I can consider myself as an expert on affiliate marketing but never wrote any thing about this topic however the website that really helped me start my affiliate marketing business is still out there and still one of the best websites about this topic you can find great info here
- The best place to start is clickbank.com. CB is the oldest and biggest affiliate product marketplace, period. This is where you find the affiliate products to sell - that's the super-easy part. The part that new affiliate marketers have trouble with is the "how". I strongly recommend a website called "wealthy affiliate" (www.TheWealthyAffiliateMarketer.info) There is more affiliate marketing knowledge, strategy and help here than you will ever need plus several software tools that are extremely helpful for finding niches, keywords, and such. W.A. is what I used when I was first starting out (I still use the site almost every day in fact). It is a GODSEND. Also, honorable mention to bummarketingmethod.com (free stuff). Extremely helpful how-to tips for marketing on the cheap. Good luck Victoria, You're on the right track. :)
