Public Comments
- T
- False,,,, In 1995 Bill Clinton deregulated the Community Reinvestment Act to allow sub-prime loans, all in the name of "Affordable Housing". This single act allowed mortgage lenders to lend money to people who could not afford to pay it back, while ACORN members threatened racism on lenders who refused to participate, which is the root cause of the mortgage crisis. Then in 1999 Bill Clinton repealed the part of the Glass-Steagall Act which allowed banks and financial institutes to combine services which started the Financial Meltdown.
- F- The economy was doing great until the Democrats took over Congress in 2006!
- F List all of the things he deregulated I dare you.
- False. Not enforcing current regulations, looking at porn and having sex and drug parties destroyed the economy
- T
- No, it started with Reagan lowering tariffs back when Wal-Mart had their made in America slogan.
- That's a big F.
- F Reagan deregulated in the 1980's and we had the biggest boom in American history until about 2000
- Republican Moto: ~Republicans: Party first, country last
- T...AND raided the Treasury...just like we do in Texas
- FALSE!!
- False. If you know of what was deregulated please tell the whole world. Bush tried to regulate the sub-prime market three times and was called a racist. The housing market is the reason the worldwide economy crumbled. Therefore the dems are responsible for the misery across the entire planet and I would be remiss if I didn't remind them about their errors daily.
- False...and what did you guys mean by no more Bush anyway? I wish that another Bush would run just so we could say No more confused harvard worldist...we want Bush!
- no the Housing bubble destroyed it
- False. Liberal delusion. Why did Democrats block regulation on Fannie and Freddie when McCain and Bush begged them for it?
- Christmas, your guy is so inept that 18 months later you are STILL blaming Bush #43? You got nothing. Obama could have reversed whatever he wanted by now. You own the House, the Senate and the Oval Office. He could have brought all the men and women HOME. You damn cry babies. Geezuz. Grow the hell up and make your guy do some work instead of playing golf and apologizing for the Americans. Did I say idiot??
- False. As much as I disliked how Bush ran things, a lot of the problems with our economy were a long time coming. It's not one party that did the damage. It's years of neglecting the real problems. Look at social security. As soon as that collapses, whoever is in power will get the blame.
- F The problem was that the people Bush appointed to various agencies didn't enforce regulations already in place.
