AT&T is stupidd. please awnser : ) : ) : )?

alrightt. so i have the iphone 3GS and ive had it since october of 2009. and i dont want it anymore. im on my parents plan so i cant switch carriers... i dont want it anymore because i am on my second one in 10 months and am going to get my 3rd one soon i already called and they said i could get it replaced ( the new software makes it freeze and loose service alot ) same with my moms iphone 3GS.... i called AT&T and asked them if i could upgrade and they said only to an iphone 4 for 399.00 and no thankss! so then i went to a AT&T store about losing service all the time and he told me that i could get any phone i want for an extra $75 and he walked me over to the phone area and showed an example.. he showed me some $10 phone and said i would have to pay $85 for it. and then i called AT&T to check and the lady said that i could not upgrade to any phone and that she did see that the representative at the store did say that and she didnt know why he did. i hate at&t anyways its $120 to cancel my contract and heres my plan.. i want the new samsung captivate. im in love with the phone, its one of the best android phones on the market. i watched a youtube video comparing it to the droid phones and evo and all them and it beat them on processor speed and screen quality and a bunch of other tests. i wanna use this site letstalk.com to order the captivate on a new line on the account, ( the phone is $99.00 on the site VS 200 at AT&T and bestbuy ) then when i get it switch the numbers for the captivate and my iphone ( so i have my number ) then go get my replacement iphone for free, then cancel my contract for $120 and then have a new iphone to do whatever with : ) do you think that could work ? please and thanks. apple suckss, just sayin. : )

1. The person in the store offerred you what is called an exception upgrade. Any AT&T service representative in the stores or on the phone can offer you that, but they do not have to. It just depends on the person you get. Your plan will not work because your account has to be eligible for upgrade no matter where you purchase the device as you cannot have 2 contracts at the same time. The only way you could do that would be to cancel your service and then start a new line of service with letstalk.com but you would not be able to keep the same number
