How can I burn TV shows from my Direct TV DVR to my Sony Vaio laptop? Full details in notes!?

Hi, It is possible to hook my lap top up to my DVR and burn my saved shows from the DVR to my lap top. I really don't want to lose the stuff I have on there. (LATE NIGHT w/ Conan O'Brien and Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien) You can't get that on DVD so its really important to me that I can save it. Anyway, my computer specs are below. 1. Nice computer but what I meant was, on the back of the dvr, look for line one output. See what cables you need, they probably are rca cables (red, white and yellow) Second, you need to know what the cpu would use to connect to the tv and I haven't seen rca cables used. That would be too easy. Here's a site that will help getting the right cables and setting it up, it's mainly for tvs but remember your looking for a cable that connects the cpu to the dvr. They might even make a cable with rca on one end and whatever you need on the other end Good luck http://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/how-to-connect-your-laptoppccomputer-to-your-tv/
