Do I need a shopping cart for an affiliate marketing business?

I am going to start an affiliate marketing business. I might be adding wholesale dropship into the online store as well. Would I need a shopping cart if it solely an affiliate marketing business? I know my users will click on the link and it would bring them to the actual company's website but I would receive the commission. So, I wasn't sure if I need to add a shopping cart to my online store. If I add wholesale dropship, would I need a shopping cart? Thanks!

1. Most affiliate marketers use squeeze page to promote affiliate products. It's just a 1 pager website that promotes a certain product. You can also offer them a free ebook in exchange of their emails so you can get a constant contact with them when you have similar products to sell. Once they have entered their email address, direct them to the actual company's website where they can buy the product. Of course, you'll receive commission if they were directed from your squeeze page. Good luck!
