Starting a new company - exactly how much patience is reasonable ?

5 months ago I started my own (internet) company. Business takes off incredibly slow. I am subscribed to just about any marketing newsletter, course, SEO courses, you name it, you can think of, and monitor all from dust till dawn. One of the rules that keeps coming back is that you need to have patience and perseverance, and more patience and perseverance. Sometimes I am on the verge of giving it up. Being new, the incredible slowness to climb up the search engines, there is just no money coming in. Up to when are patience and perseverance still reasonable ? I work day and night. Any insight on this anyone ? Thanks a lot. Business plan made, believe in the product, money to survive for a year.

1. sounds like you could do much better in life than sit at home trying to make money. unless your some loser, not bieng rude. but im sure there is some better jobs out there that actually pay well.
2. you don't say what it is you are selling you need to consider - just how unique is what you offer? if it is something everyone else is doing too - you'll have a long long wait
3. Kinda late to be asking after you started the business. Yes it takes Patience & perservance. It also takes $$$$$$ to live. Typically when starting a new business you would have nest egg to hold you over for at least year. A plan B would be to go work part time and mointor the business as best you can. When starting a business putting a business plan together is helpful. You can go various websites like microsoft.com for free templates. Or you can get very detailed and find other templates with spreadsheet & graphs blah,blah. The point is to have a plan in place. Stay strong & commited do not give up. You have some catching up to do but that's ok.
4. Anyone who starts a business in hopes to have cash rolling in from the start will fail. You need to be very patient, believe in your company and you get your big break. It may take 3 months, 1 year, 3 years or 5 years. I started my own business and trust me im taking my time and I will not fail because im patient.
